Skincare Review – Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

Tried and tested, the Summer Fridays jet lag mask. This thing you’ve been seeing all around instagram and the internet in general. I caved in a couple of weeks ago and ordered it. I didn’t want to believe in the hype, and I was almost positive I was going to hate it because of these last few ingredients on the list: corn mint, peppermint, and orange peel oil. But then I tried it for the first time, and I smelled it, and I barely detected any scent at all. Yes you can smell just a hint of mint, and a slight cooling sensation during application, but it’s just so faint it’s not a cause of concern for any irritation.

Texture

Thick and buttery cream that spreads so easily and absorbs into the skin leaving behind a healthy gleam

Packaging

I love the packaging. It’s sort of gender neutral but also very chic. Love anything in a tube really!

Application

I wasn’t willing to use this as a wash off mask. I use it as a moisturizer and sleeping mask. Right after my chemical exfoliant, I apply a pea size amount all over my face and neck. A little goes a long way.

Results

It’s hydrating AF. With a powerhouse of ceramides and shea butter, it will plump and smooth the skin, no doubt. I wanted to see if it would cause any irritation or congestion, and I didn’t notice any! All I saw was very smooth, very plump and soothed skin. The next morning I definitely notice a bit of an oilier than normal residue on my face, so I wouldn’t use this every day. I think it’s a bit overwhelming for everyday use. I think every other day or three nights a week is appropriate for someone with my skin type.

Price

I think it’s a wonderful product, but I do believe the price is quite steep. I wish there were two sizes, and the smaller size could be at half the price point so people can try it out without investing so much!
