Products that give me all of the glow as well as leave me sun-kissed without the UVAs.
Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 or P50 PIGM 400: for the ultimate exfoliation and to keep your pores clear and any discoloration away.
Dr. Dennis Gross IPL Dark Spot Correcting Serum: it’s a nourishing vitamin c treatment that at the same time protects the skin from urban aggressors as well as gently exfoliates for an instant glow.
Puyikang Yul Moisture Ampoule: finish any skincare routine with this for an instant reflective finish on the skin, lightweight moisture.
Sunscreens help protect the skin which is essential during summer. Focusing on your skin’s type and needs I have two recommendations.
MD Solar Sciences Mineral Creme Tinted SPF 30 or Untinted SPF 50: if you hate greasy or oily sunscreens then this one is for you. Amazing for acne prone skin and completely safe for sensitive skin, no fragrances, no oils, no white cast.
Dr. Barbara Sturm Sun Drops: ok if you want to reflect the rays of the sun but shine brighter than the moon, this is for you. It is SO glowy, even glowier than the line’s glow drops. Seriously amps up any look and makes the skin look so healthy and awake!
Base and Bronze
Most of the time I only use SPF for my base and spot conceal, so that leaves me with a quite pale complexion compared to my faux tanned body. That’s where these products come in.
Clinique Sun-Kissed Face Gelee Complexion Multitasker: a gel that you can mix with any other base product such as a moisturizer, tinted moisturizer, foundation, etc. to get the bronze levels you desire. I use a tiny bit straight out of the tube and don’t mix with anything else. It’s oil-free so it doesn’t interfere with my mineral sunscreen.
Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi: this is a skincare serum infused with vitamins and such but it has reflective particles as well as cocoa extracts to bronze up the skin. I wouldn’t put this straight out of the tube, I would definitely mix with something like a primer. It is oil based so it does tend to be more occlusive and pore-clogging but with continuous exfoliation, it should be fine. It might interfere with different skincare especially if you are using an oil-free routine or dimethicone based products.
Le Labo Face Bronzer: this gel has a bit of a seed oil and it’s extra dark. It stains the skin and it gives a very natural bronze. I love this for summer! You get so much product and a little goes a long way.
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter: I actually like to use this right after SPF and mixed in with one of the above products for an EXTRA glowy glow. Borderline sweaty but still very chic. You only need a little bit for the entire face.
Bronzer and highlighter are kind of the last step in a glowy base routine for me and here are my favorites.
CHANEL bronzer and highlighter duo in medium: very subtle and barely there but buildable and actually looks so beautiful on the skin.
Nars Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer: buildable warmth with a matte finish and amazing lasting power.
Surratt Artistique in Grillage: very neutral with a hint of warmth, perfect for my olive undertone, blends like a dream and it’s buildable.
Surratt Artistique in Chaleur: much warmer and can be used as a bronzer or a blush.
Becca Skin Love Glow Glaze Stick: it’s a balm-like consistency and super reflective in a very intense glossy way.
Laura Mercier translucent powder glow: nothing to say other than it is perfect and the most natural, buttery loose powder highlighter I’ve ever encountered.
